Have a 2017 Ram 1500 with a level and I just swapped new rims and tires, 18" wheels with 305/70/18 tires.
Upon leaving the tire shop I pulled over in a parking lot and tried to do the program so it could work on calibrating everything on the drive home. So I could check the speed against the GPS and adjust if needed.
So a week or two later I drove about 45 mins on the interstate, TPMS went out, saying it needed to be serviced, and it showed all tire pressures as --. Like there were no sensors at all. Did on the trip back as well. It threw DTC's for the tire pressure internal sensors.
I got to Discount tire and ask them if they can use a relearn tool or something on the sensors, they check them all they say there good, I put new Mopar sensors on the new wheels (Not that that necessarily should matter as long as the Hz is correct, but I did it for peace of mind). Their tool says the vehicle has to automatically recognize the sensors. So im like ****.
Then I order a $300 TPMS autel programmer, that ended up also not working. SO I sent that back.
I was in the kitchen this evening, and Im like damn, what if all this trouble is from the actual tune itself from the RC programmer. Let me try and go back to stock. SO i reprogram it back to stock. BOOM. It read them all and the TPMS lights are gone.
So would that be a software issue with RC or what? Any ideas? Anyone else had the same issue?
