Those look great, how far do they hang down?

They sit nice and tight under the rocker panel masking the ugly pinch weld. I'm not sure exactly how far they hang down though.

Here are a couple of pics I found of them on an Ignition Orange Ram Sport that is stock height. If the HDX Extreme had been available when I was buying mine, I would have had a hard time choosing between them and my HDX Drop Steps.

Look into Westin R5 or R7’s. They are black, aluminum and they are so tight to the body that I don’t like it LOL.

I’ll sell you mine ha ha

Thanks. I've been looking at those trying to make my mind up.

Are you happy with these steps? They look good to me but the price is so low compared to the others that I've looked at that I makes me think they'd be low quality. Are they sturdy?

I love them! They are great quality and very sturdy. I just helped a guy install a set on his ram because he liked mine so much!

I've done about a month of research online, looking for boards with the most clearance. I settled on and ordered a set of Go Rhino RB20s.

The RB10 and RB20s seem to sit the highest amongst the various options.

I'll post up some pics of my RB20s next weekend when they arrive.

I was looking at the RB 10's but saw that they were made out of 16 gauge steel which is pretty flimsy IME. It's actually kind of surprising since you can buy Chinese-made raptor style running boards for much cheaper and made out of 14 gauge all day long. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.

I have the RB10s and they dont feel flimsy at all. But with the finish on them (which seems like spray on bedliner) Im not sure I could figure out the gauge of steel even with a micrometer.

Id also be leary of Chinese-made anything claiming to be of any thickness. Im sure they measure them the way they want to get the results they want.

The thickness of the steel is only one aspect as well. The type of steel is easily as important as the thickness.

I don't know what type of steel go-rhino uses, nor the Chinese boards. Just something else to consider.

For example, 4130 has a tensile, yield and shear that, in 16 ga, would put it at least on-par with, likely superior to 14 ga 1018, and 1018 isn't a bad steel either.

I wonder what type of steel the Chinese use for running boards.

My go-rhino boards don't feel flimsy. They feel as strong as a dose of the philipino clap!
