The bolts will come with whatever steps you purchase. What you have under the body is holes where you place the bolts/wing nuts and or nut rivets already in place to accept the bolt. they may be covered by a piece of painted over tape.

It is usually just hex holes underneath that you put squash nuts (rivets)in. Easy to determine with a quick look underneath.

There's an even chance the holes will already be there and threaded. Mine were.

These two are the correct answers. Mine had the hex holes, so I used hardware that came with the kit that had a backing plate with one stud and one threaded hole. I thought about using squash nuts, but I kind of liked the idea of the backing plate for extra strength.

I have a set on my Ram, not sure what brand they are, but they mount to the cab/frame mounts

Those are the most solid running boards I've ever had, I'd looks for a set that mounts like them

I used the rivnuts, and they have been on since 2013 without a problem. A lady even drove into the side of my vehicle and they held up.
