Has anyone tried the alibaba power running boards? They’ve got quite a few. I’m assuming they’re bad but I’m curious

Never heard of them, I like the Amp steps I have, fold up better-closer to the body than the factory steps I’ve seen.
The fit and finish mine have are thanks to @Quick_Shifter, who installed them and tweaked/adjusted until they were perfect.
They do plug in to the OBD port which some members don’t like, not a concern for me.
I forget the name but recall another brand that uses magnets instead of a electronic signal to open/close, might be the one you referenced but doesn’t ring a bell.

Well pleased with my AMP Extremes so far I do wish I had gotten the over ride switch so I could lower them while going through the car wash.

I considered the override switch too, don’t use car washes but to use if I have to park in a tight spot, the only thing I miss about my regular steps.
Your probably aware you could pull the fuse or unplug the obd port if that’s how yours is wired, not really convenient but before going thru a car wash might not be to bad.
I tend to worry about wearing out connections, probably not justified, so I leave them alone and just park farther away or at least next to a nicer car that owner will be careful when they open their doors.

The connections dhould not have any wear, more frequent use may actually help prevent corrosion. From what I see the contacts that activate are all in the sealed module.

I have no experience with those off name brands but AMP has been a super reliable product for many years!

Message me if you would like a quote on them. We typically have them ready to ship!

Amp are the best in my book that is what came on my Night Edition from the Factory, but I think they should of put the lights on the steps, but it is what it is.
