Rust on 2017

[Outbreak]

This weekend I took off my OEM steps and installed Amp Powersteps. Where the OEM steps were, the paint on the pinch welds was chipped off and it's now rusting. Is/should this be covered under the warranty? Honestly, I have no clue whether it is or not.

That does suck and I bet pretty much every Ram out there will have chipped/flaked paint in that area once you take off previously mounted step sides, be it OEM or otherwise. I wouldn't think you'd get FCA to cover it, but you could try. I'd probably dress the area with POR-15 or something like that and make sure to get it oil sprayed once a year by Krown, Carwell, etc..
