What do you expect "RamCares" or any other company internet rep to do? Most of these rust complaints are either past the 3/36 bumper warranty or do not meet the perforation (hole through) conditions of the corrosion warranty.

Most of these internet customer service reps are usually contractors and not direct employees. Many if not all work off a tree'd customer service script and will not deviate from it nor matter how much common sense it would be for them to do it.

What do I expect them to do? Probably their job and if they are independents with a script, just pass the information that is outside the script to someone up the chain. These fenders are definitely perforation and the pictures serve as evidence to that for a fact.
The perforation warranty from Mopar is 5 years / 100,000 miles and this wouldn't be the first time that bad design caused a problem that triggered a massive recall for out of warranty panel replacement.

WHAT'S NOT COVERED
This warranty does not cover corrosion due to fire, accident, vehicle abuse, owner negligence or vehicle alteration; corrosion caused by sand, hail, airborne fallout, chemicals, salt, road hazards or stone damage; or surface paint deterioration or corrosion (other than inside-out perforation

I like this part. What else is going to cause inside out perforation other than they forgot to paint the inside??
This disclaimer pretty much says, - Yeah, unless we left bare unpainted metal and it rusted through, you aren't covered!

This terrifies me because I have a 2014 and don’t do any type of rust prevention other then washing it every month.

Sucks to hear these stories. My wife had a Subaru Impreza. Long story short, the transmission went out in it 6,000 miles outside of the power train warranty. The service manager at our dealer called the 1800 number for Subaru, started the case for us, and Subaru gave us a rebuilt transmission (factory), installed it for free, gave us a 3 year extended warranty, and apologized for not offering a rental for the 2 days they had the car. Did I expect that? Nope. But you know what, we just bought her a new car, wanna guess what brand and where we bought it? That’s how you get lifelong customers and that’s why Subaru owners are so loyal.

And before people say, “can’t always do that, it’ll bankrupt the company.” No, if you don’t sell crap, you aren’t stuck fixing crap all the time so you can afford to fix flukes when they happen, and that buys you future business.

I guess the point I am trying to make is that these manufacturer reps on the various boards are basically worthless. They are almost autonomic in function and inept in matters outside the most basic things. One has to go above them to get something done and not rely on them.

Old thread, but I have a 2013 68000 miles and noticed the first bubble at the 12oclock position at the rear driver side fender. I was disgusted with it and put on the OEM flares already painted gloss black. Hopefully it stays under the flares till I trade it in for a Ford because I’m officially done with these trucks. Had a 2004 as well and you’d think the rust was part of the design on that generation of Rams. They had over a decade to right a huge problem and they failed once again so I can’t justify buying another one. Truck gets a weekly washing few coats of wax every year and making sure I clean underneath. Not sure what more we have to do as owners to maintain these trucks lol

Mind me asking where you got your flares and what they cost? 2013 with 70k., rustproofed every 18 months and rust popping through a front fender. Nice. Thanks
