S&B install?

I got my intake in yesterday and went right to installing it. Got the oe out and the new box in easy enough. Put the clear lid on and there is a small gap about the thickness of a credit car around the edge closest to the fender.
Also when trying to put the tube from the air box to the throttle body coupler, it seems to be an overly tight fit. The tube seems to be too long causing the coupler to bulge out pretty badly towards the driverside. I've taken it back apart and tried repositioning it, but I can't get it any better than whats in the pictures. I don't want to have it tear while I'm out driving around and get stuck on the side of the road.
And one more question about the IAT sensor, how far do you insert it into the grommet. When I put it all the way in, it felt loose so I backed it out about an 1/8th of an inch and it seems to fit better. Is that correct?

And yes this is the newer part number made for the 13-14 trucks, so I would think it should fit like a glove. Purchased directly from S&B.

For the cover, some people elongate the holes on one side to make it fit tight. Some others have used weather stripping around the perimeter under the cover to make it airtight.

That fit on the cover is not perfect, but neither are the seals on other CAI boxes to the underside of the hood.
I wouldn't worry about the boot to the TB if it were mine.

Boot to throttle body looks allright mine is the same, got over 20 000kms no issue, my cover was bulged worse then that , like said above, weather stripping is what I used

Ended up removing the intake due to a vibration that was driving me nuts. Found the intake snorkel was rubbing on the ac pressure switch on acceleration. There was absolutely zero clearance between the two parts. There is no adjustment possible to alleviate that so I gave up and removed it and went back to stock for now.

Here's an FYI on aftermarket parts...they rarely if ever fit perfectly. It's the nature of the beast. As far as the intake part rubbing on the AC line...it's an aluminum line, just bend the damned thing a bit for clearance and you're good to go. I completely reshaped the AC lines on my 2012 truck to clear the Procharger parts and I bent the exact same line you're talking about on my 2014 for clearance with the S&B intake. Takes all of 20 seconds to clearance it and make any issues go away.

Agreed. I also had to bend my AC line for my vararam intake.

Shouldn't have to bend an AC line. Spend $400+ on a plastic box and would hope they are spend the enormous profits made in a little R&D to fit right.

Shouldn't have to tweak the oil dipstick tube to install a $1700 set of headers....but you do.

Vehicles have allowable tolerances when they leave the factory...no 2 are exactly alike. Aftermarket companies get real, real close and say 7 out of 10 may fit with no issues...the other 3 will need a little massaging. If you spend any appreciable amount of time installing aftermarket parts you'll see it happen time and again. It's not a big deal...it's really not.
