There was a very lightly used TRX for sale at a local lot a couple years ago for 'only' $86K. Our 1st house in 2009 was $106K.
But if I could have...I would have bought that truck no question. Just because. I'd love to have one. It was a great deal, relatively speaking.

Honestly, I've seen some pretty insane prices on loaded trucks, especially when looking at duallys, so it didn't really seem that bad.

No way on this green earth would I ever pay anything close to that amount for a truck! People who are paying these prices needs some professional and financial help IMO. It’s part of the reason prices won’t come down.

i wonder how many people buy it on credit and simply get it repo'd after missing a few payments
even notice how a lot of online car dealers will not tell you the price, but tell you the payment instead?

I have owned 6 different houses over the years including my last one which I custom built myself and only one that we are currently living in was slightly over that amount.
The custom built was a 1400 sq ft bungalow with a full basement and double attached garage. I did most of the work myself so I didn't have a lot of money ******* in "labour."
Wasn't a square inch of that house not finished. That was in the early 1990's

At these levels? Basically nobody. You can't have the sort of income and credit needed to take a $100k loan while simultaneously having the average Nissan Altima customer mindset.

There are more millionaires than people assume, maybe 22-24 million in the US alone. Many millions more who are "hundred-thousands-aires". Then figure in business owners who are leasing them as a combination PR move/tax deduction/owner benefit. They sell maybe 15k of these trucks a year... I could do a cash purchase for either of those trucks tomorrow and not have to sell any stock to do it. But I wouldn't, it's an absurd amount of money for what they are.

If you wonder who's buying these trucks, go to somewhere with a lot of tech bro millionaires or huge ranches. Jackson, WY is an area where the billionaires are pushing out the millionaires, and I've never seen more high end pickups in one place in my life. Raptors, Power Wagons, etc there are like Civics in "normal" areas.

While I am definitely not a millionaire I knew what truck I wanted. And to outfit a different truck would have cost me more. When I bought my truck it wasn’t really out of my price range. I was making good money and had a good job. Then the economy under justin Trudeau hit the toilet. I managed to get through it but the last ten years of my career that I had hoped to beef up my pension didn’t really happen

My buddy who has one and said he rarely sees 2 digit MPG around town metro Baltimore.
Nothing gets good mileage around Baltimore. Way too many traffic lights and weirdly configured streets.

I honestly expect McDs to be ran by one human per store before I'm dead. It'll be automation for nearly everything.

I refuse to use the touchscreen things to order on the rare occasion I go to one, but I haven't stepped foot in a McDs in North America in years (in Europe, yes, cheap coffee or ice cream cone to use a clean bathroom in some countries where pay toilets are still a thing). It's a quiet protest against yet another entry level job gone, and without entry level where do you get your next generation of mid levels, etc? We'll go to Whataburger or Culvers or the like instead, where they still use people to do people jobs. At least for now.

Here in Canada we have the tfw(foreign worker) program its so abused that citizens ie teenagers can’t get jobs. Much like the USA our immigration system is a mess. I work with a lot of these people and they are for the most part great. But its in construction so some are tradesman some are labour workers if they come here legally I welcome them if they are lazy or here illegally I quickly loose my patience

The only fast food I will eat is Dairy Queen - at least the local one has stuck to the old process / recipes. I don't believe I have been hungry enough for any of the others in a very long time.

Canada and the USA were both built by immigrants. Some good ones some bad its part of what makes them great. There has been a huge influx of migrants into both countries not all of them are bad people but some are. One criminal is one to many good hard working people a thousand is not enough

Probably not available in Montana, but Whataburger is really good for fast food. Very local to New Mexico, but the Blake's Lottaburger is *usually* good, but you want one of the old ones that looks run down and like they may repair small engines in the back vs one of the new shiny franchise ones.

These days when we travel stateside we either just take food and a camp stove with us or go to Hispanic places/taco trucks, preferably where little to no English is spoken. Sysco and franchise modeling hasn't ruined them yet. If I see some fat middle aged Tio or a gray haired Abuela in a greasy ass truck with a few beer bottles littered around the parking lot...I don't even order. I just tell them to give me $20 of whatever (s)he recommends. Seriously. You may get some off menu stuff you didn't know existed. I still don't know WTF to call those little spicy beans-in-a-pita-like-pocket things from the Guatemalan lady, but dayyuuuuumm are they good.
