Hi I’m looking for a reasonably priced scanner to allow me to access control modules suck as trailer brake setup, cluster access on my Ram 1500 warlock 5.7.
Main reason to setup my trailer brakes I installed and general control module access.
Any recommendations.

I would suggest you try out a much less expensive solution first to see if it satisfies your requirements.

AlfaOBD, KaodTech Security Bypass cable, OBDLink MX+, and either a windoze laptop are everything required. Many members use an Android device, phone or tablet. I prefer a laptop for many reasons.

AlfaOBD for android $49 US, for windoze $56.70 US
KaodTech $55 US this device is made to measure and always shows out of stock, but doesn't usually take too long to receive.

OBDLink MX+ BT $210
OBDLink EX USB $95
*VGATE vLinker USB $36

All amounts are CDN unless otherwise indicated.

I've listed prices for AlfaOBD for windoze and android because the majority of members use android, but not me. Ask me why, if you dare.

I've listed 3 different options for an OBD2 port interface. The MX+ is by far the most popular, but too expensive for me. And I dislike using Bluetooth devices.

The OBDLink EX is on the AlfaOBD approved list and costs less than half the price.
It is a USB interface, which I believe is superior, but only for windoze.

*I've read sufficient reviews on the vLinker that I'm confident this device will be suitable for us to use with AlfaOBD. I've ordered one, expecting to receive it on Saturday, 28 February.

If you have any further questions, please ask away.

CRAP! This is a resurrected thread, and the OP hasn't been seen since September 2024.
I will leave this info for someone who might be interested.

I asked @ginokaan to stop resurrecting older threads the other day. I guess they did not get the message.
