With the 6 and it being a 18 quad cab and 2wd? I would assume you got into it for about 20K? If so that's a good buy it wont depreciate much from there.

With the 0 apr for 84 months they have been slinging around. Just get the 5.7 Hemi with 3.92 gears. Unless you’re towing heavy stuff all the time, you’d at least max out the capabilities of a 1/2 ton truck. Just my .02 cents,

Are 3.21s that bad unloaded?

Nice looking truck!! My credit rating wouldn't allow that for me.

I’m right there with ya! My truck praises me everyday for buying her, so it was worth a little heftier note!ed57bd8c9b5472290707bc6c77c74bb4.jpg

I have a 19 Ram 1500 5.7 W/3.21 gears. Performance wise it kicks ass and still gets me 17-18 mpg city, 20-20.5 highway. I only tow a large pop up during camping season, but live in Denver, Colorado and climb over the Ike pass or up to near 8000-9000 feet when i camp. Fully loaded my camper weighs 4400 pounds. I get 14-15 MPG towing it, but it isnt a giant air dam like a trailer would be. I want a bigger trailer, and would max out my payload and tow cap if i did get the one i want. Im not worried about the 3.21 gears capabilities in that case, i just wish i would have paid the extra 95 bucks for the taller gear.

I like my ram but no one has a better riding truck than Chevy. I had an 02 Silverado 4x2 which road like a caddy. They still do. a buddy of mine took me out for a ride in his new one and that thing road like a dream. I'm keeping my ram of course. But it gives more of a truck ride as does Ford.
I test drove a 2017 GMC Sierra about 20 minutes before I test drove my ram. I prefer the looks of the Sierra, but there is no comparison in ride to me. Of all of them, the ram is by far the best ride quality in my opinion. The Sierra was nice, and honestly if the dealer would have been willing to work with me on price and trade, I would have bought it. They weren’t, so I stopped by the ram dealer on my way home. 1/2 mile into the test drive I knew I was going to buy it. It was better than GMC and Ford, and this is coming from someone who loves Fords and has owned 9 F150s

I'm right up the highway from you, Ernie.

3.21 gears also, my pop-up is about 3000lbs loaded and we probably camp at some of the same places. I can pass easily on Georgetown Hill and Ike westbound (a tad slower eastbound). Even some of the long climbs on I70 west of Green River, over The Swell. Trans temp never gets above about 182.

Someday I may want a bigger camper - TT or something similar - but the 3.21's work great with what I got.

Hello Dave! Yea I’ve gone out twice over Ike pass, I like the formal campground @ Dillon Reservoir but unfortunately it’s always full. I guess people must book it out 6-8 months ahead of time. We also like the KOA in glenwood right off the river. Other that that we boondock a lot. I’ve camped off tiger run road near Breckenridge (lots of coyotes or wild dogs at night in that area), we’ve spent a lot of time at Rampart range when we take the ATV’s out, and one of my favorite spots is the BLM land south of Jefferson, CO. Peaceful, and plenty of trails to go sight seeing on the quads.
My camper is a Somerset E3 with a toy deck. I’m literally having to make a decision today to buy a 2020 Jayco 267BHSW. My hesitation is the GVWR. It’s at 7,500 which is under the max tow. The hitch weight I suspect would be between 700-1000 pounds. I have 6-7 hundred pounds of payload room with a 1,000 hitch load.

Current mods to my pick up are:
- 1000HD Airlift bags
- wireless AIRLIFT compressor system
- Hellwig Sway bar upgrade
- WDH E2 Fastway hitch with saw control.

End of month = best time to buy! Beautiful truck, Like the 22's One thing I'd like to add to mine at some time.

Americans are nothing if not optimistic. We will get through this crisis by the grace of God. Congratulations on a beautiful Ram Bighorn. Looking good!

We've got an E2 also. We like the campgrounds in Williams Fork. We do a lot of rafting on the Upper Colorado, so it's close and these campgrounds are usually fairly empty. Lots of beetlekill, so a little less scenic.

Sounds like you're hauling some serious hardware. For us, it's a smallish pop-up, a cooler of beer, burgers and my boat. :)

My pop up is awesome, but at the end of the day it’s still only a pop up, albeit a bad ass one lol

If that Jayco is a jayfeather I would pass. I've bought two new ones over the years and they are not well made. To keep weight down the cheap plastics all over the camper don't hold up. The torsion bar axles are junk and wear tires really bad. Good luck.
