Does anyone know the procedure to deactivate the seat belt chime for the 2024 6th generation ram. The sequense for the 2023 does not work
Thanks in advance

try buying a MINI 3" rigid seat belt extender
just insert it into the right side of the seat
that should shut off the chime

the 3" also comes in handy when the weather is Cold & you need a heavy jacket or coat

I bought both a 3" rigid, called the MINI
&
a 5" rigid, which i don't think i will ever use

I did not know which size would be best for my large belly

their site reads that it covers the 2024 models

For your 5th gen RAM:

1. Get in the truck and shut the door.

2. Buckle your seat belt.

3. Turn the truck to ON (do not start).

4. Unbuckle your seatbelt and rebuckle it 3 times (leaving it buckled on the 3rd time).

5. Turn the truck OFF (you should hear a chime).

6. Unbuckle your seat belt.

You will still have the warning light in the instrument cluster but no more reminder chime.

I tried the above on my 2026 RAM 2500 Laramie with electronic dash and it works. I now get the initial chime and then just the warning light.

This doesn't work on my 2024 2500. I'm still trying to find a solution.

Is there any possibility that you haven't followed the process precisely and within the time limit?

This fix has been around for many years and worked OK with my '21 Warlock and the '26 as posted above.

The 3" rigid seatbelt extender is truly the best solution.

I successfully disabled the chime, but the EVIC is still monopolized for far too long by a big red warning. I want to review the status of several items immediately at the start of any new departure.

I've followed it precisely and within the time limit, and a dozen other variations. I never get the final chime when you turn the truck off. Based on some other info I've googled, it seems like folks with the full digital gauge cluster have issues.

I've spent time digging into this topic, namely, a 2024 with a full digital instrumentation cluster.

From what I have read and can now confirm, yes, as you have said, the usual seatbelt alarm disable process will not function with this specific configuration.

The only solutions that I know of are installing a seatbelt extender or a blank clip.

I've used seatbelt extenders for years, and I have successfully used a blank clip to disable the passenger seat alarm when carrying a heavy cooler.

The clips I purchased were small metal devices about the size of a bottle cap opener and significantly less expensive than those on the following site.
In other words, you may find a less expensive version.

I have learned that the jScan App will disable the chime alarm.

I've also found the following option in AlfaOBD; however, I can't confirm if this will disable the chime for a 2024 with a full digital instrument panel.

AlfaOBD/Ram 2500 (DJ/DR)/Instrument Panel/Instrument Panel Cluster: MY2023+ PowerNet/Program Customer Features/Seatbelt Alert System/Disabled

Thanks Michael....I'll need to look into the AlfaOBD steps more closely. I've had AlfaOBD since my '16 Rebel, and I have the security bypass cable for my 2024, but I've hesitated to do any "tweaks" since it's a more complicated platform than my '16 Rebel. Guess I need to take the jump and see what I can do.

It doesn’t work on my ‘24 Ram 2500 either. I’m familiar with the process. It worked fine on my 2012…and on my 2015…but not my 2024.
