Hi Guys- new to the forum. Just bought a used 2017 Big Horn with 30K Miles .
Been to the dealership 3 times in 3 months for Service Shifter light coming on. Dealership couldn't duplicate problem until 3rd time. Finally replaced shifter and ignition switch . one month later service shifter light came on again along with CEL and stabilitrak light then turned off after a while . Truck ran fine the whole time. I've been reading that this is a common problem. Any suggestions/comments from others that have had same issue is appreciated.

Hi Tach_tech , thanks for the reply. Since issue comes and goes I couldn't read code in time. However it happened again Saturday. I had all kind of lights coming on. "Service shifter, service electronic braking system and service transmission continue in D Do not shift or turn engine off until you reach a desired location . You may not be able to shift again until serviced." Truck went into limp mode on the Florida Turnpike had to pull over with cars flying by (I was in middle lane) . After a few minutes everything went back to normal and truck ran fine. Then yesterday I received message " Auto park has been disabled" along with check engine light. Was finally able to read code this time and I got U0001: High Speed CAN Communication Bus. Light is off now and truck is running fine. This is driving me nuts. I bought truck cause I needed it for work and hauling . I don't know what to do . Not very reliable at this point. Don't feels safe towing anything. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks !

This happened to me twice yesterday while driving home. Other people have reported its possible the main connector under the driver side rail has moisture. Pulling apart, drying, cleaning and putting dielectric grease typically will fix it. Its what I'm about to try.

My 2015 has same message. Research says you may get stuck in park. Have ordered new shifter dash knob ($270). Will give results after nI install.

This is exactly what I was thinking when this started happening to me - that it has to be one of the main comm cables, as no vehicle is going to have everything randomly go bad at once! LOL

This, or the battery. I replaced the battery since it was starting to go bad ever slightly. Possible waste of $200, but it was coming sooner than later anyway.

That said - I only climbed under the truck once and could not quickly figure out the release mechanism for that connector under the driver side rail. Any tips? Thank you!

Is this the connector connected to the frame under the driver's seat? Having the same issue.

Got this issue fixed. All of my lights were going crazy intermittently. Truck would go into limp mode, wipers would go on, no bus light, CEL. Had a friend/mechanic look at it. It was a communication wire going into the PCM that became exposed. All the research I was finding online was a bad TIPM. But it was a bad wire going to PCM. Hopes this helps someone.

Glad to hear that 'fix'. Thanks for sharing.

My first thought was brake switch... but I guess not. I've had to replace my tk's Brake switch dues to a number of faults similar to the OP's. I could see on the scanner that over, say, 20 brake pedal pushes, a couple times it would not close the circuit. But good to know about the connector.
