Service trailer brake system message

I took out that 5" stereo and threw in an 8.4" ra3. Everything is fine, except for I have a message on the dash for "service trailer brake system." It came on immediately after install. All wiring has been properly inserted. I purchased the wiring from infotainment.com, but I dont think it's the writing's fault. Computer maybe? No clue what to do. Thanks

Check the F87 and F11 fuses

Did you start it without plugging everything back in the first time? If so clear the codes you'll be fine.

I didnt start it without plugging everything back in, but the hazard lights came on immediately once I reconnected the negative battery cable. How do I clear the codes without paying the dealer? Lol

Could it be as simple as disconnecting the battery for 10 min and reconnecting or do I need AlfaOBD?

To clear the DTC codes you would need the Alfa or similar product or have the dealer do it. Is it possible you forgot to re connect the trailer brake switch when you installed the bezel in the truck? It's normal for the check engine light to come on for a few key cycles and the mirror heat led to flash for a few key cycles plus a few other small glitches but I've never seen an issue with the trailer brake
