Since I-70 shuts down between Denver and Utah every 2.4 days, why not just shut it down even more often? Nearly 70% of the closures happen on my side of the Rockies with 38% of the state's land and just 10% of Colorado's population lives. It's funny how with the least amount of traffic some of the largest mass wrecks of trucks and cars do occur. Personally I believe that all the new automatic safety technologies disconnects people's brains from any of the feeling of driving their vehicles in bad winter conditions, especially in 4WD vehicles like our Power Wagons. When conditions are bad I drive my 1998 Chevrolet K1500. Just get a better feel with a stick, but it still was no joy to sit in it for several hours in Glenwood Canyon last month due to a major vehicle pile up.Thanks- I stand corrected. I think they should shut down the main highways when conditions warrant. All the mega crashes on I-70 shuts down the roadway anyway so shut it down before the big crashes.
