2014 Tradesman just passed 100k miles, bought used.
I know this issue has been brought up in other threads but I didn't see a resolution so I wanted to ask again and hopefully get a clearer and more complete answer.
When I am moving my gear shift lever in the "park" position, before taking it out of park to reverse, I hear a "chattering" sound directly behind the key. This is different and seperate from the "click" I hear when I press the brake pedal to release or "unlock" the shifter.
Other posts have mentioned a shift lock relay and a shift lock solenoid. Are they separate components, as in can be replaced separately, what needs to be replaced, and how much does it cost? Is this something a shop "has" to do or can it be done diy?
