hey, merry x-mas. i've got a 04 1500 4.7l, 5spd. lately when shifting it seems tough to get it into gear, usually after i drive a few miles. i don't think it's the clutch, as i can start out in 2nd gear, go up hills, no slipping at all. wondering about the hydraulic side of it.

thanks to anyone who can assist.

i need to tow a small car about 350 miles, don't want to attempt it the way the truck is acting now.

Have you checked the fluid in it? Lack of fluid can cause shifting problems. You could also have a small leak between the master and slave somewhere causing the problem. My 6 speed acts up once in a while the same way, i usually go second then first and it goes right in

Sounds like the clutch needs to be adjusted. If it drags some it affects the shift.
