shock question

hey all. recently bought a 99 ram 1500 with a 2.5 inch leveling kit on it. the thing needs new shocks for the sole reason that the shockks are complete crap and are probably the factory ones. i need to know which shocks to get since i dont know if the factory ones will get the job done with the 2.5 inch lift. also if i have to replace the 2 front springs as well.

i also have another question. i took the truck on the beach and when put into 4wd it squeaks and now when i let off the gas you hear a ticking. i was thinking something in the front differential? any ideas and info will help me a ton. thanks a lot - Mike

Shock wise you can just google 2.5 inch shocks. If you have the money everyone here likes bilstein 5100's. Honestly just depends on how much you wanna spend.

The ticking could be u joints, maybe ball joints but probably not. Just look under there and turn the wheel and see if you hear anything.

Get a pry bar and if you can wiggle the cross joints without much effort that'll be your tick. Also like bassskayer25 suggested lay under it and have someone turn the wheel slowly. Look for anything out of wack
