Hi guys - new to the forum and have learned lots by reading and searching various posts.
I had a 2014 Sierra Denali 1500. Was a great truck and was my favorite kind...PAID FOR! I really like the 5th Gen Rams but have never owned a MOPAR since my used 84 Chrysler Laser which was a POS.
I stopped in a dealer to look at the Rams to just kick tires and while there the Used Car mgr said he would give me $27k for my 6 1/2 year old truck( (it was mint). Needless to say that put me on a 3 state search for the vehicle in the color and options that I wanted. I am eligible for fleet discounts and had over $5k ($2k for GM owners) in rebates plus 0% financing for 36 months. I picked up my new Ram on Saturday, put on the factory mud-flaps and just dropped it off for it’s 2” leveling kit. Will go more aggressive with the tires at some point but won’t want off road tires...any suggestions for the factory 22’s would be great..not lots of choices out there and would like to go a little taller. I have my BakFlip MX4 cover ordered and will put on vent visors,
200 miles in and I love the Ram!

LOL - I like it a lot too, my last truck was Silver and super easy to keep clean (or it didn’t show the dirt) and i was between this and white. This will show everything but will look great with a fresh coat of wax!

Gorgeous truck. Will be hard to find tires to put on 22’s, probably not a ton of options. I’ve seen a lot of people change their rim size for a better ride quality. 2in lift all around or just the front end?

Welcome! I also dumped a 2014 Silverado for my first RAM back in 2015. It was a vibrating ****box that was unfixable as was the Silverado I had before that. Turned me off new GM products probably forever. I assume since you kept your for so long that it did not have the dreaded "Chevy shake" then.

I just leveled the front (ReadyLIFT 2” pre-load spacers) - See pic
I like the rims and there are a few options out there...Nitto makes the Terra Grapler G2s - They come in 285/45 which is what i have now but these are an inch taller than the “Good for a Years” that are on there now or I could go 285/50 but that adds 12 pounds per tire...is that a big deal? Will it noticeably impact performance or mileage? Haven’t looked to see if there are many other options out there.

No shake on mine...an occasional clunk in the drive train. Was a great truck and did not have to replace a single non maintenance related part on it. I did look at the new GMCs but just weren’t “new” enough and I just really like the interior on the Rams and the HEMI ain’t bad either.

I do think 12lbs per tire will definitely be felt in the mpg department. 12lbs doesn’t sound like a lot but it’s a noticeable increase per tire and that tire weight can really affect the mileage especially if you do a decent amount of “city” driving.

I really dig the rims too. I’ve just seen/read in a lot of places of a lot of owners switching the smaller rims.

I traded a '17 sierra slt ccsb 4x4 in on my ram. got 40K for it..really nice truck but with 5.3 and 6 spd. and 3.42 gears it didnt pull my 6000# trailer very well. took a chance on the laramie as they had just come out and so far it has been fun to drive and is a much better tow vehicle except for the puny cargo capacity.
