I would love a SC with 8 foot box! Don't know if they will ever come back ... might push me to a competing brand too.

A real truck = RC/SC and 8' bed.

Alas, I need a CC and short bed.

I have not heard if the 5th gen will get one or not.

I've not heard any rumor about bringing out a 5th Gen RCSB (yet).

an option would be to buy a chassis cab and 8’ OEM bed separately. I have not priced them but I know you can get new OEM beds through a variety of suppliers.

I see beds for sale at companies that remove them to add work boxes, generally in central PA in my area. Often advertised in Craigslist.

1500s are not available (as far as I know) as a chassis cab.

2500s are available from the factory as RC/SC with 8' bed in Tradesman and Big Horn trim.

both are not, but the OP did not indicate which model they were looking for with the stated configuration.

You can still get a regular cab. That is why they still sell the classic.

The HD can have a regular cab and a 8 foot bed in a few trims.

Crew cab and 8bfoot bed can be had in any trim...except Powerwagon.

I do not think the Regular Cab is gone. But the HD hasn't updated cabs yet...and the classic is still being sold.

Until the classic bows out and the HD gets redesigned you will not see a 5th Gen RC though.

The OP was vague...why do people do this...need to be more specific...but I am sure he was meaning 5th Gen 1500.

So you can go classic for the Regular Cab...or 4.5 Gen HeavyDuty...but the 1500 5th Gen does not have one now...because of the classic carrying the torch

2019+ 2500 is what you seak. It’s the old 4th gen cab with the 5th gen interior and an updated frame. It won’t drive like a car like a 1500 though.

You can also still occasionally find a RC/8' bed D150 in Hemmings Motor News.

But the OP asked about a 5th Gen Ram.
If you read my whole post...you will notice I was replying to everyone in the thread.

In my post I explained all the different ways you can still get a regular cab...as other posters said it was gone forever and not available.

Sometimes you do not get what you want...but can still get what you asked for...when you are vague.

Single cabs tend to appeal to kids or people without kids. I know where I am most of the kids that have trucks they are crew cabs. They may have become unprofitable.
