Hi All
New guy here.
My 2015 Ram, has the basic radio, the uconnect 3.0 in it. It has AM,FM, and Satellite Radio. I have been looking at aftermarket head units.

Ive got it narrowed down to either an Alpine, JVC, or Pioneer. I also have an Android Samsung Galaxcy S4
phone.

So my main question is on the satellite antenna that is in the truck. Can I use the stock truck satellite antenna with the the aftermarket unit, ????, or will I have to use the little antenna that comes with the Sirius/Xm unit, ????, or can I get an adopter, to use the stock antenna,????.

Also.... What is the little round antenna looking thing on the center of the dash right up by the windshield,???.

I just don't like the little flat antenna from the Siruis/XM unit. I had one on my last Ram, and it was a pain in the A***, in the winter , when you had to clear the snow, off your roof, or windshield, as it would always get knocked off.

If any of you have any suggestions on which head units to use, please let me know. My budget is up to $350.00.

Thanks Dave

The dash black bulb is light sensor for the auto on headlights.

Not sure about the antenna but I can’t see the connection being unique to the headunit.

you can use the antenna but youll need a Sirius xm tuner. also the end of the antenna is not a snug fit into the tuner . I got an adapter that makes it a little better but still not a great fit. I zip tied the hell out of it and it held

Thanks for all the info you guys.
Heres an update on my quest. I ended up getting a Pioneer AVH-1300Nex headunit, and the latest Sirius XM tuner, along with an idatalink Sat1 FARKA sat radio adopter cable, a Metra 40-EU55 antenna adopter(reg radio),Axxess LC-CHRC-01 harness, and a dash mount for the head unit.
Did a lot of looking around to get all this stuff.
Now just waiting for the weather to get better to install all this stuff.
The idatalinkSAT1farka cable will alow me to use the factory Sat radio antenna, with the Sirius XM unit. If anyone wants or needs the PN for this let me know.
I ordered all this stuff from Sonicelectronix, on line. It came fast one day shipping.
