How much is a new plenum plate and gaskets? Because like I said, I got a similar air leak when I hit the throttle to. Guess I need to go check the number 8 plug

Either that or pull the airbox off and take a flash light and look through the throttle blades and see if you have puddle of oil in your intake. Even residue will say something. i paid 150 to my door. I then went and got the intake gaskets and t stat and gasket. The whole job cost me about 200 bucks to do but worth doing.

Hughes Engines

I didn't like the flimsy rubber gasket that came with the hughes kit so I went down to Advance and got the good Fel Pro gaskets. You also need new Manifold bolts as they are Torque To Yield bolts (TTY), and actually stretch when you tighten them. So they can only be used once.

If you have a heavy residue inside the intake manifold, you more than likley have a small leak going on. If you have a light film, that is normal, as a properly working PCV valve will let small traces of oil in. A faulty PCV, or no name PCV can sometimes let large amounts of oil in.

Either way, even if the plenum hasn't blown yet, it will if you plan on keeping the truck. People on other forums have noted having a plenum leak with as little as 35k miles.
