To take a chance on tearing something up to pull a sled in front of a bunch of people....no thanks...good luck!

A pullin sled, I assume,,,

Look for 'Truck Pulls' on you tube,,, Skip over all/any of the 'bumper to bumper' hook ups and watch the 'Truck vs sled' pullin,,,

I've watched a fair amount of pulls over the years,,, Tractor/truck/lawn mower, etc Some go, Some blow,,, Can be fun!

I've followed pulling for a long time, helped do up some pull trucks and tractors. If your smart you won't really tear stuff up especially pulling with low weight with all the other half tons. I was hoping a couple people had tried so I could see who had luck in what gear or if any tried in 4hi rather than 4lo.

I believe pullin has been around long before the 'Monster Truck's',,,

Saw quite a bit of it in the Midwest when I lived there (about 30 yrs ago)

As long as it made a lot of noise and had some grunt, I was hooked! LOL!

Not that much of it here in Houston,,, The general public seems to be a bit more occupied with 'Cowboys' and 'horses',,, :sleepy10:

No sled pulling for me--not with a 1/2 ton anyway. Did it in the past with my 3/4 ton Cummins but that was a long time ago. Pull Ya now means from stop light to stop light---sometimes. LOL

I did it 5 years ago when my 2010 Laramie was brand new but I think I pulled in 4 lo with 3.92 rear end. You have to be careful not to bounce off the rev limiter the first 150 feet. Seen guys abuse their trucks but there is no need to if you are careful. Mud running is far worse in my mind.

I'm curious how many here have pulled their 2500 Hemis in the Gas class.

You've got to be in 4 low 1st gear. You don't want it to shift gears and being in 4 high would be too much stress on the 4wd system.

I was going to on the weekend..lol

My aunt and uncle own all the pull sleds in Ontario and do the fairs. They had a test and tune event where guys could test out their trucks/tractors before pulling season.

I was on the fence about pulling so I figured I'd ask my uncle if he thought it would be a good idea. He suggested not to right away lol. If the guy who owns and all these things says it's not a good idea, it's probably not lol

I'd only pull in the lowest weight class, tons of people pull their stock half tons no issue every year in that class. I saw a guy last year roll in with a 6.4 hemi 2500 still had the in transits on it. He pulled with all the stock and mildly modified diesels, finished like 2nd or 3rd.
