Is anyone with a 2026 SO Hurricane having hesitation issues when accelerating? I searched online and found this was a know issue in the 2024-2025 models, but was supposedly fixed in 2026. I have less than 1,000 miles on it.
Will likely take back to the dealer to inspect, but would like any feedback before doing so.
I drove this truck like I owned it, I drove like an old guy and then drove it like a twin turbo, so lots of driving habits and no matter what I did, it seemed to lag off the stop and if I pushed a smidge more on the accelerator it would take off and make the drivability very wonky. I also noticed that when in traffic under 35 that I would get some weird shifts that would clunk hard enough I thought someone hit me from behind.
I researched and found out about this TSB and wanted to say after having this done Wednesday this week it is so much better. The truck holds its gears for more RPM's when accelerating off a start and is much easier to manage. no more rapid acceleration, it is more linear. Take a look and ask your dealer to do this on yours and hopefully this helps your issues.
Details of TSB 21-015-25
The Problem: Owners commonly report a clunky gearbox, hard shifts (especially between 1st–2nd and 2nd–3rd gears), surging or hesitation at low speeds, a jerky feel during Engine Stop-Start (ESS) engagement, and sudden jolts when braking to a stop. [1, 2, 3]
The Cause: Improper Transmission Control Module (TCM) software mapping and gear-holding logic under light throttle. [1, 2]
The Official Fix: Authorized Ram dealerships must plug the truck into the wiTECH Diagnostic Application and reflash/reprogram the TCM to the newest calibrated software layout
