Just wondering what your setup is and what kind of mpg your getting? trying to decide if I want to get a diablo with a custom tune, or a bullydog with a canned tune. what do you guys think.

Get the diablo with canned and then upgrade later :)

Discount Auto Performance has a good deal with whitelightning custom tunes included on the trinity. I have been trying to research the custom tuning of these trucks. On my old diesel the difference between a canned tune and a custom tune wrote specifically for your truck was UNREAL night and day. Making way more power but running a lot safer and cooler. I hope this is the case with the custom tuning for these trucks! I'm waiting till I buy my throttle body though so when I send in my log file from my truck and the tune is wrote it'll be compensated for that. Only thing holding me back from doing it now.

good question

that's the only kind I have... j/k

I really liked what I saw performance wise from hemifever's but haven't been able to find any info on the mpg side of it?

id probably just go with intune model, lot cheaper and can do everything but read off the obd2 like the trinity, but I guess that's why they make options for us.

so anybody have any info on this?

Well with mine about the same or little less. Because I like to use the go pedal. Plus mpg in a truck is no concern to me. I have me gf's car to concerve gAs.

i have 3 diablo custom tunes i used to get between 26 and 28 mpg of course i drive as how a hemi should be driven , when i use the superchips canned tunes i get 19 and 21 mpg (same driving habit ) and the truck is faster with firmer shifts and it kickes down better than the diablo canned and custom tunes i have , the only thing i noticed is diablo custom tunes make the truck pulls better from 0-30

I said that a few weeks ago, and was told the intune is REALLY difficult to load/switch custom tunes. I have no interest in the fancy-pants features of the Trinity but I hate dealing with software enough that if thats true I'll spend the extra to make my life easier.
Would love more input.

I know my old man picked an intune for his truck, and it was a pita to download just the updates it needed? maybe there is some truth to that?

all though if its only like an extra 30min trying to make it work or something I can live with that for $100+ in savings.

more info on the thing would be nice lol.

I haven't done the custom tune yet but my intune was fairly plug and play. Did an update after it read the VIN and it work.

I recently got a Trinity with hemifever tuning. The screen was a little messed up, so I sent it back to DiabloSport for a replacement. I ran it about a week and saw my mileage (according to EVIC) going up, but I also wasn't using the remote start as much. I started keeping my own mileage last time I filled my truck up, and quit using remote start. The Trinity is supposed to be delivered again tomorrow. I'm not going to install it again until after this tank is gone, maybe one more tank. So I'll update my mileage then, but I do only in town driving.

I'm running a superchips canned 93 performance tune, and I get 15.5 to 15.8 mpg all city driving, no highway

I have a 4.7 with 3.55s in the rear, other mods are borla catback with magnaflow y pipe, CAI, and a ported throttle body

I wish I could get near 15-16 with my truck. As of right now, I'm getting a steady 12-13, but hopefully I'll be getting a superchips soon, so maybe that'll help.

May be elevation. It's like 6k or so in Albuquerque, then towing here equals **** mileage for anything.

In for more results. I drive mostly highway and have 2700 miles now on the break in oil, 61 mph cruise set, bone stock besides 2.8" front lift, 0.75" rear lift, and my own AOS, and finally hit 20.0 mpg on this tank of gas :) !!! I'd love to see more as long as the mods are worth it.
