Hi All,

Just bought and will shortly be picking up my new 2019 1500 Classic. This represents a few firsts for my family. A First Truck and a First Domestic vehicle of any kind.

We're a smaller family and love our camping. The wife is a master of finding nooks and crannies to hide all our gear in and we managed to fill our well loved 2011 Tucson to the absolute brim and then some while we toured large chunks of Canada and into the US. But with the kid getting bigger and my wife no longer keen on tenting it each summer we decided a bigger vehicle was in order.

The Classic came about at the right time for us. We were keyed in on an SUV but the deep discounts and downright affordability of the Classic line just ticked a ton of those boxes.

I'm looking forward to mostly reading, listening to folks experiences and learning from that to get the most out of my RAM.

Welcome Aboard from Denison Texas
Be sure to get a 4x4
It’ll benefit you so much more and open other opportunities for camping like places that have other wise have been unimaginable with a car.

What trim level are you looking for?
Do you plan on pulling a trailer?

The utility and functionality when camping was a big deciding factor. The idea of just tossing everything in the bed and heading down to the local lake on a whim without the tetris packing game was very appealling.

I've made the purchase. I pick up my a 4x4 V6 SLT Crew Cab with the 3.21 Rear Axle Ratio on Saturday. Being new to the truck game I did do research so the V6 3.21 decision was made with eyes wide open to the potential limitations in the tow game. I debated on going Hemi, but there is no intention to pull anything larger than 2500-3000 pounds and there was some can't pass up incentives on the V6s the dealer was trying to clear so I'm happy with that. I may regret not having a hemi badge at some point but it won't be due to towing weight. Test driving both engines I was satisfied that day to day I wouldn't find the V6 underpowered.... (Can you tell I agonized over this one? :D)
