I would like to apologize if this is not in the correct section first off.
To give some background info on the truck it is a 2001 Dodge Ram Quad Cab Sport with a 5.9 gas 4x4 with 126,*** miles.
To start with when I bought the truck it had trans issues which died a couple weeks after I bought it and it ended up sitting for about a year and a half. ( I would go out and start it every week.) I was able to get another trans for it which I installed just fine. The truck ran just fine before the trans went out. Now I can get it to run sometimes, usually until it heats up. I have replaced the fuel pump because I thought it might have been the fuel pressure regulator. That didn't fix the problem either. My wife was driving behind me once and noticed that there was what looked like **** falling from the exhaust (the muffler is cut off and there is a clear view to the cat). I drove the truck another time after this and got it in the driveway and looked and the cat was glowing hot red and orange, so I figured that it was backed up and couldn't breathe causing the stalling because it was backfiring also sometimes. This still didn't fix the issue. When the truck is stalling and you just put it into the on position you can hear the fuel pump kicking on over and over and the relay box under the hood just clicks like it's no ones business... I have swapped the fuses and it has done nothing to fix it. I have replaced the rotor bug and distributor cap also. I love this truck and it is my first dodge that I've owned.
I hope that someone knows what this problem is... I've already spent lots of money trying to replace parts and fix it. Someone please help!!!
