Something is leaking?

On closer examination of the picture it doesn’t look like any kind of oil to me. Did you have your truck idling for a while. It definitely looks like carbon condensation to me

Wouldn’t have been idling to long, maybe a few minutes at most. I don’t let it idle, lol

Soooo, once I got home from doctors today, I checked under the truck again, couldn’t find any leaks, started it and went under, no leaks, drove it forward onto fresh snow, no leaks. I inspected the laneway and I noticed it started to drip once I came to the upwards incline of the laneway, the incline portion of the laneway is maybe 50 feet long and that’s how far the dripping went, on the rest of the laneway which is flat, no dripping. Took my car back to the plowed field I was in yesterday to look and didn’t see anything. Used the truck to back the dump trailer into the wood shed on fresh snow, no leaks. Took the truck to the hayfield to cut down another tree, didn’t see anything leaks all day.
I dont want to just jump to the conclusion it’s an exhaust leak in case it’s actually something else but that’s what I’m leaning to after some of the comments here.
I’m going to do some googling and see how to check the transfer case fluid in this unless someone wants to tell me here?
Any other fluids I should be checking a little more regularly? I’ve never checked diff fluid in anything I’ve ever owned, should I be?

On the back of the t-case there’s two plugs. They are removed with a 3/8 rachet with the truck parked on level ground remove the top plug it should not run out but it should be close enough that if stick your pinky in it should touch oil.

If the t- case is leaking it should be fairly obvious. Like I mentioned go to the place where it melted down to the ground if you are leaking gear oil from anywhere it should be apparent

Where it melted completely through the snow there is nothing, no oil

Maybe a long shot….How about the muffler? When the vehicle is cold my GM mufflers have weep holes for the condensation. Water is a byproduct of combustion, and old mufflers leak rusty water.

Good call, that’s what it was. Seen the same drops today and thought OH No, bent down and looked underneath and there it was dripping out the exhaust weep hole.

Went cutting wood today in my neighbours fence lines, I didn’t realize how bumpy the olowed filled was but I carried on. Got all the wood out in 2 trips and I’m not going back in there.
Anyways, I get the second load home and I’m almost done and the ydrauloc fluid on the splitter starts gushing everywhere, filter came loose
I walk around my truck and notice a line of darkish fluid ( almost the colour of old brake fluid, maybe a hint of blue or purple)that has followed the truck up my driveway. It looks to be about 9 to 12 inches inside the passenger side wheel. When I pulled in, I went ahead and then backed in close to the dump trailer. Right now it looks like heavier spots that melted through the snow just beneath the muffler and another spot maybe 3 feet ahead of the muffler, both spots that it melted through could be from the same spot since I would have stopped the truck and then backed up to my final location before splitting the wood.
I checked the power steeering fluid, it’s good and it’s red so not that, I checked the engine oil, it’s super clean and full so not that, I checked the transmission fluid and it’s red and read full at the hot mark even though the truck had been sitting for a good hour and a half. Checked the windshield washer fluid, not that. Checked the brake fluid, it’s down about an inch, unfortunately I don’t know what it was at before.
Any ideas what I should be checking, what fluid this could be?
Tomorrow I will fill the brake fluid reservoir up and start the truck and look for leaks.

Brake fluid level drops as the pads wear. So unless your pads are brand new, the level will be low.

If you are mucking around in the fields with short trips and no hi speed driving, you muffler could have a fair bit of water in it, weep hole could be plugged up.

Take it on the HI way and drive for a while , get it hot, it should clear it out.
Keep the RPM up, it it was -20 C this morning so would take a while here.

Transfer case oil is oil, so easy to tell.
If it was brake fluid, sit with the truck running and hold pressure on the peddle, if you have a leak, the pedal will end up on the floor, or settle down, BTW old fluid will do that if it has water in it, The wife's Honda brk. peddle will settle a bit if you hold pressure, not enough to be a problem yet, but time to change it.
but it will have to wait for a while.

No, my truck is a 6.4 Hemi gas, but if your having issues I would create a thread and I’m sure the fine people here will be able to give you some guidance
