I can't explain how it works but the shifts are more firm and less hesitation between shifts. If that helps answer your question.

I've had the B&M version of this on my F150 for 14 years and 94,000 miles and it made a HUGE difference. I love the feel of the shifts. It didn't make it like a new transmission, but it certainly helped.
