What is the cheapest way to get a replacent key for a 2007. The dealer wants $250. I found some uncut ones for $25. I would have to get it programmed.

The 25$ keys are fine they just need to be programmed into your computer and the dealer will charge 250$ to program it. Do you have a command start? if you do you can use it as the second key to program the 25$ key. Check to see if the dealer key cost includes programming if it does that is the normal price because they have to reprogram your computer to the new key. I always program a 3rd key on any vehicle I buy that has 2 keys and put one away in a safe place so if I loose one I can just buy a cheap key to program myself. I don't know why more people don't do this especially after they have to get a dealer to program one when they loose one of the two you get on a new car.

We have a local hardware store; Ace True Value, that can do smart keys for $75-125 depending on make.

they can cut them but without 2 working keys they cant get your truck to recognize the new new chip unless the somehow have a programmer capable of reprogramming the trucks computer to recognize the new keys chip as approved.

The cost for the Key is $165 and $100 to program. So I would save $140. I ordered two of the keys so this won't ever happen again.
