Question..... if you look under the rear seat in the storage area there’s a cut out with a wiring harness that goes to a factory sub. My truck did not come with a sub so I purchased one when I plug it in no sound comes out of the sub. Do I need to do something else before I start taking everything apart.

So you dont have the Alpine system, if so, it probably is a dead plug.

Your truck has the base system and not the Alpine system. The Alpine system comes with an external amp that powers the sub. You will need to add an amp to power the sub.

Probably going to much easier to install an aftermarket sub and amp combo given you have the base stereo. Just tap into your rear door speakers for a signal with a good quality Line Out Converter. Also, Fox Acoustics makes some really nice boxes for the 4th gens.

Gonna revive this quick since it’s fairly recent. I was replacing those exhaust modulator things behind the seats and unplugged my alpine sub to clear more room for the seat bolts. Once I reinstalled everything my sub doesn’t have the same sound now. My equalizer settings are the same. Any got any ideas on what it could be?
