Under the Hood harness that runs from power module to ECM and headlights etc...one arm of it going down the fender well to chassis module is the one damaged. Would be a million times easier to splice the old to the replacement harness I got rather than replace the entire harness. Some of these wires go to rear lights, horn, and fuel pump...any known issues of resistance or can I just sodder them and go?

Depends how much damage. Rats ate my 2000 harness in multiple places , did about 75 solder and shrink wrap spots. some were in the bundle that went into the firewall in front of the driver. PIA. some were on top of the fuel tank.

This is the one that goes thru the firewall behind the steering wheel. Which doesnt sound fun at all to access to replace the whole thing. So you had no problems after splicing?

There was no problem in the actual splicing, solder etc. I had one wire in the middle of that bundle I couldn't get to so i had the brake symbol on. On one of the fuel injectors I ended up running a new wire and just taping it to the existing bundle. Due to my rodent issues I added all sorts of split conduit over everywhere possible. even put old radiator hoses around the bundle through the firewall. You will need a solder gun shrink tubing wire and a heat gun also a multi meter for checking continuity
