What splicing technique is your favorite to use in your truck?

i prefer a "military" splice. i strip a little wire. poke a tiny hole in the strands, put the new wire into the hole and wrap it around the spliced wire tape it up.

if it's inside the truck crimps and a wrap of selfamagating rubber tape around.
If it's in a possibly humid/wet location then either solder or crimp, cover with liquid electric tape or poliurethanic sealant and then heat shrinked.

I solder, heat shrink and then tape. Vehicles are a bad place for electrical connections

I'm going to add clearance lights so im trying to decide how I want to splice my wires. I do like the way the military splice looks.

The only drawback when soldered, (and it's a small price to pay), is it creates a stiff place in the wiring. The soldered joint won't bend very easily.

Not only that but if not done properly it can lead to a cold solder joint and cause electrical problems.

T-taps and zipties.

I kid, I kid.....but with most if not all my connections will be heat shrunk.

It's fun watching it shrivel up too.
