Spohn adjustment issues.

So im finally getting to double checking the perfect adjustment on the rear and now that im really spending the time to triple check everything numbers arent adding up.

So i have my pinion angle set no prob, but having an issue getting all axle location dimensions to add up. Lower arm adjuster nuts same length, lower control arm front bolt to shock bolt same length but things get wonky around the wheel well distance im 1/2" off on dimensions in the fender well and hight in the fender well. All frame dimensioms seem to equal out but not to the body.... at a loss of where to find the issue

I am not sure if I understand what you are asking... But keep in mind that the trucks bed is most likely not perfectly straight or aligned with the frame.

Correct me if that has nothing to do with your issue...

No thats what im thinking. All the arm adjustments are within .o1" of each other. So im thinking its just body alignment. Just wouldnt thing that it would be off that far from one side to the other

If you take a tape measure and walk around the truck measuring between the cab and bed, and bed and frame, you will find some "interesting" discrepancies!

On my truck, I didn't even need to measure anything to see that the bed was not on straight...

Lol! Sorry... Despite being very OCD, I never messed with it. It's not hurting anything, and the only way you can see it is when you are looking for it.

The bed alignment has always bugged me but when i get to the stafe if rear end re-fab ill adjust the bed mounts to square it up side to side and square. 1/2 is very noticable for me but for now justcwant it to perform right, cosmetics later.

Excatly.

My concern was this: if I align the bed to the frame, will it make the alignment even worse between the cab and the bed. Who knows if the cab is off too...

I know my cab is off alignment since my front wheels are 1/2" forward on the driver's side and perfectly centered on the passenger side. It's not like the front suspension has any play forward/back like the rear does, I'll have to get it fixed when I do the body paint, but that's not in the budget again this year.

Damn that's crazy... well i wont freak out anymore checking, triple checking and second guessing myself.

I also need to hurry up and get the exhaust reworked with the parts sitting at home... with the 100% correct pinion angle im damn close to the crossover to the driver rear tip. And just remembered i needed some weld on clamps... should pick them up while im near a summit racing store

where did you set your pinion angle. I ended up at 1 +. Had a vibration at 65 to 75 mph before setting it correct, now smooth as glass.
Mine is about 1/2" off also with the wheel openings, but the suspension is dead nuts even everywhere.

My trans was sitting at 4degeees so i matched that. Havent test drove it yet, i may have to back some out till i repath the exhaust

You should ideally have -1degree from the trans angle. Rossler has the best visual aid involving 4-links, just click on pinion angle from the tabs.

Thats a good source of info, i may back a degree or two out but im curious is 4-5° is a normal trans/motor angle

Might need to shim your transmission or engine or cut the mounts down if you have that much angle coming off of it...

I was thinking the same thing. was going to look into that this weekend and prob shim it out to 2 degrees and put the axle at 1 degree. Also still have to take it back to the dealer to reset the gasket so I may wait till after that.
