Hey guys I have just bought a 07 Ram 1500 2wd. 109k miles. I just replaced leaf springs due to sheared center pins. I live off a dirt road and as I was bringing my truck back from the shop I started to hear a squeak/ pop sound coming from the rear. I’ve checked the bushing on both the front and back shackles and they seem well greased. I’m thinking maybe the shocks need to be replaced? I have also notice the I can reproduce the sound if I shake the bed from side to side more than if jumping on the rear end. I’ve only drove about 100 miles with new leafs.Any help on this would be appreciated.

Welcome to the forum. You can spray the leafs with some lube like fluid film or the like, they are rubbing against each other. What kind did you buy?

My old 02 did the same thing every time I turned I heard that pop n squeak, sprayed it and it didn’t make a peep from then on.

Thanks for the input. I’ll try it and see. And I bought the springs from SD truck springs. They are OEM, 3/1.
