Was think about getting a 2023 SRT8 as a garage queen. Has the “Last” badge under the hood. Thinking of buying it and leaving it in the garage and only driving as a Sunday driver on occasion.

Would this be worth a long term investment? Say 20 years. Could leave it to my son.

Input would be appreciated. Bad or good.

I wonder what the price of gas will be in 20 years. Investment? I wouldn't plan on that, but if you have the money and like the car, why not?

Guess a lot of it depends on which doddering old fools we get napping in the whitehouse from now on (bi-partisan "rant", they're all the same to me.)

What do you mean by SRT8.Are you referring to the Demon 170 ,or a Hellcat Durango?

I believe Dodge dropped the SRT 392 trim a couple years back. It was basically a Hellcat, but with a N/A 6.4. The Scat Pack didn’t receive those same goodies. The only options for a 392 car now is a narrow body or wide body Scat. I wouldn’t bet the bank on a Scat as a good investment.

SRT8 Scat Pac 6.4 Hemi.
As 1SlowRam said,it's just a Scatpack.Only the Hellcat powered vehicles are SRT's now. You'd be better off with one of the 6.4 300C's / a 1320 Scatpack Challenger or a Superbee which is a Charger with all the 1320 goodies,if you're looking at a naturally aspirated 6.4 Scatpack version. Those 3 will hold their value better then just a standard Scatpack Challenger will.

If you spring for a 1320 Challenger, make sure it has both the pass seat and back seat, they're hard to resell if they don't have the optional seats, and you can always add the rear seat delete after purchase

Looking closer the description says a R/T 392
It also says 392 Scat Pac
Car has the Super Bee logo on it.

That 300C equipped with the 6.4 has my attention. I miss my ‘06 300C SRT8.

Dealer added the Superbee decal, not uncommon. The last call Superbees's are listed above, and are Chargers not Challengers.Even the earlier 2013 style Superbee's were Chargers.
You're looking at a garden variety 6.4/392 Challenger Scat Pac,nothing really special about it,how good it holds it's value is to been seen, but it's the most commonly built Challenger.
The one naturally aspirated 6.4 Scat Pac Challenger that might hold it's value is the 1320 Challenger. It's affectionally called the Baby Demon,as it's basically a 2018 Demon underneath with the N/A 6.4 instead of the Demons 840 horse motor.

Here's a short little video on the 1320's

The 5.7 isn’t an option in the 300 any longer, correct? You’ve got one of the last real C’s.
It's the best highway cruiser i've ever owned, but with 2.82 rear gears,it's not really a huge tire spinner, but it'll easily pull down 30+ mpg on a trip. It's also the only white one i've ever ran into that has a tan interior. I finally got around to swapping the factory shorties and catless mid pipes off the wifes 1320 Challenger onto it last winter, which made a bit of differance in it's tire spinning ability, not much, but enough to be noticable

You are exactly correct. Did some more digging and “SuperBee” tagging is all that it is. I’m gonna have to pass on this one.

Thanks all for the input. Have a great weekend.

Personal opinions here so feel to disregard rather than get angry:

There is no way anyone should buy any new vehical today thinking it will be an investment. It's a depreciating asset pure and simple. Yes, there are cars that are worth more than they cost new, but that's very unusual and takes a long time. Longer than 20 years. I'll use Corvettes as an example since that's what I'm more familiar with. In 2000, I bought a new c5 z51 coup for $42,000. In 2015 I traded it in on a used 2014 Z51 3Lt C7 Stingray coup with 7800 miles. I got $18.5 K trade in on the 2001. I paid $58.5k for the year old 2014 which had an original MSRP over $75k. This was through my local Chevy dealer. The dealer listed the used 201 with 43k miles for $20k. Obviously the original owner of the 2014 took a massive hit on depreciation. I did pretty well on the 2001 as i got 44% of the original price after 14.5 years of ownership.
KBB on the 2014 today is about $43K trade in and $47K PRIVATE PARTYSALE. So on aprivate party sale I could get 80% of what I paid....pretty good really. But if I had bought it for the original $75k, I'd only be getting 62%. Still pretty good for a 9 year old car but obviously not great for that first owner.

To find a Corvette that's valued more than it original sticker you probably have to go all the way back to the C3...which would be at least 40 years old and kind of crappy cars even when new. The really va,unable ones are the C1 and C2 (first and second gen 1953 to 1967).

Then there are electronics. How likely is it that cars made today will still be functioning in 20 years? For the 97 to 2000 C5 corvettes, the chip that makes the anti lock brakes work started failing on some cars and no replacement is available. The only fix is to find a wreck that the chip can be salvaged from. Fortunately the brakes still work and just aren't anti lock any more. I know someone with this problem that "fixed" it by putting a piece of black tape over the warning light. Chevy says they only guarantee parts availability for 10 years from the date of manufacture. Of course my C7 is much more reliant on its electronics. Even the differential is electronically controlled and once needed a firmware update....yes, really. I don't have onstar anyway, but GM sent me a notice a while back saying my car is no longer supported. If I had a '67 I could probably keep it running for as long as gasoline is still being sold using after market parts. Not so much with the cars made today.

I'm not saying don't buy it. What I'm saying is that you have to be buying it for the love. Any hope of it being an investment or passing it on in 20 years is purely a matter of luck.

I would do it in a heartbeat. I am about to have to replace the Ram. 5 boys that are all teens or preteens I need a bigger Vehicle. The Wifes Cherokee L does its job it seats us all, but I am probably going to end up with a new Wagoneer. I really miss my R/T Charger.

I miss my 16 Charger as well, but needed a different truck since the Ram was down having issues. I’ve got a CTS-V, but the RT was a much better “go anywhere any time” car.

Im currently in that season of life. No toy... I traded my 19 Charger in so that we could get a bigger suv. Wife hated the Pacifica Van we had. My truck is inching up on 160k, so at some point it will need to be retired. I do really like the new CTS-V cars!

Those Pacificas have crazy room, wish I had one for Disney trips.
I had an 03 Silverado with 325k on it, had my ole lady not totaled it I’d still be driving it. My V is a 13 Hennessey performance build. I can’t get onboard with how round the new ones are, but I’d love to drive the CT5 Blackwing for a day.
