Hey, all!
I'm having a weird issue with my '96 2500 5.9l gas. It just started a few days ago, and I thought I'd turn to the think tank first.
Recently, when I start my truck after sitting all night, it fires right up, revs as it should on start, and stalls out when the idle drops back down. It will do this a few times. I've resorted to giving a little gas at start to keep the idle high. Once I get it going, it may die another time when backing out of the drive and shifting into drive. Once I really get it going, and maybe drive 2 blocks, it runs like a champ. I can shut it off, let it sit, and it starts and runs fine when I get back to it.
Information:
Sits on a very slight incline.
Put new muffler on, and haven't ran a pipe yet. (Didn't seem to effect it at first)
Put a little bit of premium and seafoam in on Friday.

Any suggestions? Water in the tank? Fuel pump? (don't see how it would only effect at start up)

It's not a daily driver, but I tend to drive around in it when I get home from work to run errands.

Any help would be great!!!

Happened to me once after I got out of school. Engine would start and die pretty quick after. Only way I got it started was giving it gas for a while. I was below a quarter when it happened so I filled up on my way home and it hasn't happened since. Sucks yours is happening all the time, I'm sure someone else will give their input as to what might be causing it

Fired up and drove like a champ last night. Hoping the extra gas and seafoam took care of it. I'll report back if anything changes. Sounds like maybe a common issue.

Check fuel pressure at the rail. The gas level changing behavior makes me think fuel pump.

If you're still having trouble maybe try a new TPS? for some reason when it rains (probably a coincidence) my 01 5.9 wont idle... it will crank forever but wont start unless i give it about half throttle, then chokes out & ***** itself if I try to let it idle. Shows no codes on odo with ignition method... Replaced throttle position sensor and it hasn't had any problems since... Just a thought
