So its been a while since I bought my trinity and an HF tune. Has anyone had any issues where when taking a turn from one street to another, it feels like the throttle is stalled or bogged out? Almost unresponsive. Then when you give it a little gas, it drops to a lower gear and zips off? It seems like it only does it when I have the hemifever tune installed. Any help?

How long has it been since you loaded an updated tune from Sean? I have never experienced what you are talking about, but he has made multiple changes to the tuning in the past 6 months. I would just shoot him an email asking for an updated tune.

It's been a while. Before winter. I'll shoot him an email and see if he has anything for me

Can't say for certain as it varies case by case. But often what is adjusted in the tune to make it fast for a lack of better words ****** off the PCM.

Sean will have to find the offending parameter.

This can take luck, lots of trial and error or a basic tune.

It's weird that it only happens when I go to turn from one street to another. Otherwise, the tune has definitely woke up my truck.

Had the issue. Jay worked really hard on it for me and got it minimized. I have noticed that after about 3000 miles of driving, its gotten TONS better. If I reset the computer though, ugh.

Does not seem common but it happens.

I'm running the HF 89 performance tune and have been having the same issue.

I've also been noticing some rpm flare and random harsh shifts between 3rd up to 4th and 4th down to 3rd gear. Sounds like I need to send Sean an email...

Can't say I've experienced any of this, but my suggestion is always to ask your current tuner about it.

Hell, I've had issues before where something has come undone or something is dirty and my tuner can spot it from nothing but a datalog. It would have taken me hours to sort out and took them a few minutes behind a computer.

Does your truck feel as though it's jerking back and forth?

I loaded up the tune. I was only able to drive for about 30 minutes so I didn't get a real good read but my first impressions are:

When at wot, it feels strong

When not at wot and just normal driving, the shift between 1&2 feels like there's a big flat spot. Like you'll even start to lunge forward then 2nd gear comes in and feels weak.

The shift between 3&4 is the same thing but not quite as strong.

As far as the throttle unresponsiveness when turning, I was only able to try a couple times and it seemed a little better.

Tomorrow after work, I think I'll unhook the battery for a bit to reset the PCM and then drive it for a day and see if that helps. I emailed Sean and told him the same thing and I'm waiting for a reply which I'm sure will be soon. He's great about getting back to everyone very quickly.

Those of you having this issue, have you messed with the throttle boost after loading the tune? Sometimes the pcm doesnt like it when you change the boost with the handheld because the sean has already set it.

I haven't messed with mine, the only thing I've changed was turning off the MDS.

Think I'll watch this thread for awhile before ordering my tuner and HF tune. I don't need anymore issues on my plate.

Let me be clear. I have had the tuner and the HF tune for over a year. I have never had any major issues, knock on wood, and anytime I have questions about the tune, all I have to do is email Sean and he does everything he can to work it out. I am not knocking the tune or Sean whatsoever. I just wanted to throw the issues that I am having out there to see if anyone else has had a similar situation.

Does the shifting issue completely disappear when you use the stock tune?

I just want to confirm you're feeling a jerking sort of motion and a brief spike in RPMs? Almost like it's slipping for a short instant? I'm in the same boat as you here, never really thought it could be the HF tune, though. I'll try it out when I get my truck back from the dealer.

Looking forward to finding out the cause behind the issue.
