Hi there ... I hope someone can help me.

I have a 2001 Ram 1500 off road package with a 5.9. It started stalling at stop sign and having a rough time starting in the cold about 2 months ago. If I held the gas pedal down it would stay running ... then once it warmed up it was fine. But didn't do that again for about a month and a half. So I went and replaced the battery (it was 4.4 years old). When I took it there, they tested it and said there was nothing wrong with the battery ... but I changed it any way. It seemed to be fine for about a week now ... then today it started to do it again when trying to start the truck. I had read about the TPS being the problem for many others ... and I put in a new one. It did not help. I have no CEL on or any codes. It idles around 500 rpm ... when it does stay running. If I throttle it up, now it bucks and jerks like its misfiring over 4000 rpm. If I start to let off the throttle and bring it back down ... it just dies. Then it takes a few tries to get it to start and run again ... at the 500 rpm like it wants to die. I am completely baffled on this and I need to get it fixed ASAP. We are expecting snow on Monday and I want my truck for that day ... just in case. Any ideas are greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance ...

wow ... 58 views and NO help. You can just delete this thread ... I figured it out ... and now I am just gonna delete my account from here. I got more help from searching the web over the past 24 hours then I did from asking fellow Dodge owners ... pretty sad.

settle down bud, you can hate on a forum after just one post. Stick around for a while.. These are some nice dudes. And in regards to your truck, a rough idle is extremely hard to track down the source. You just gotta work your way down the list. Is it throwing any codes? That's where you need to start. There are many little things that could be causing it.. IAC, EGR, bad TB things like that, but that is more accelerations surging. Also something as simple as bad plugs, or not as simple as a cylinder misfire. Or things could be worse and it be fuel system. I don't know too much about stalling and rough idles, but I guarantee there are others on here that will help you out.
