I have a bone stock 2021 ram 3500. 6.7 Cummins H/O hooked to a Aisin transmission. Truck has 162k miles. Original starter solenoid went bad. Had it changed out. 3 days later on a cold start I heard a grinding noise and truck wouldn’t turn over. I new what it meant. Towed the truck to a shop. They replaced starter and flex plate. I also changed both batteries since one was deemed low. Truck drove great for 3 weeks. Go to start it again and grinding noise is back. And I’m clueless of why. ( I use the truck to haul a 36’ 2 car enclosed trailer)

Something is off, I would take it back to the shop that installed it, I would think it has some kind of warranty being its Fu-bared in just 3 weeks...

It’s there now. Waiting to see what’s the outcome. Trying to see if anyone else has had this problem

has to be something like the wrong number of teeth or the spring throw

is the starter Bendix Spring & fly wheel or flex plate a matched pairing

I would believe so. All parts came from the dealer. And are Mopar parts.
