Nice!

What kind of tool will you use to cut the aluminum?

Or are you taking it to a machine shop and having them cut it?

So I will be drilling/finishing these in my garage with regular tools......I won't even be using a drill press......just a regular corded drill and a careful hand.......should be good enough to prove the concept.:favorites13:

ok so I cheated a little, I did not drill 100% free hand pilot holes after all, in fact, I didn't even use the drill motor I intended to use..............instead, I ended up using my dremel with 1/8" drill bit and the slide portion of the router head left loose so I could use it as a short travel plunge.......I coated the outside with urethane grease so it moved a little smoother...........I'll be damned if these holes aren't better than 1/64" accuracy both sides! :33::33:

Now "I will" use the drill motor with a step bit and finish the holes........................

So I'm guessing those plates will bolt on to the stock location?

Well I'm happy with how it all went together, no apparent binding or clearance issues........ please excuse the grade 5 hardware for now as that's all I had on hand in all the different sizes to make the magic happen :grd:

The Hellwig adjustable rear end links supplied with the bar worked perfectly; so no need to buy different hardware there.

I need to go drive this thing!

Looks good! Question though. Will they be strong enough?

Sent from my VS990 using Tapatalk

Honestly, not sure, that's still an unknown......but not for long:naughty:.....I chose 6061 T6511 material, so no heat treat or temper to get the T6 rating but at 1/2" thick I'm hoping it will be strong enough. Other options are heat treating what I have, buying thicker material, or even going with steel for that matter, lots of options out there........

just got back from a test drive, very happy with the performance here. I'll update the thread with my driving impressions/details in a bit. Going back out for some more fun!

For those interested in the bar I used, see below:

That's true haha test and tune. Why did you specifically need the plates? Is the bar narrower and it couldn't mount in the OEM location? Or was it too close to the pumpkin?

yes the mounting points are narrower on the larger bar......that was actually a bit of a surprise, but not so big of an issue I couldn't make it work as you can see from the pictures!
