Ok guys and gals Im in need of your help! Im in the process of starting up an auto detailing business. Just something I can do on my days off and its something I love to do!! I have done family/friends vehicles in the past and I think its something I could turn into a little side job! Help me set prices, and see if the prices I have come up with are something you guys would be willing to pay!

For now Id be using their water supply, until I invest in a trailer and a water tank/pressure washer! So I had to calculate that out of my earnings! I would of course come to them! That being said here are my prices.

Car/compact suv:
wash/detail exterior (ie wheels and tires)- $45
wash/detail exterior & vacuum/detail interior (ie dash, door panels etc)- $70
wax exterior- $35
carpet/fabric cleaner if needed- $10

Large suv/truck:
wash/detail exterior- $65
wash/detail exterior & vacuum/detail interior- $90
wax exterior- $50
carpet/fabric cleaner- $10

I want to call it Perry's Auto Detailing and I will be making business cards to pass out! Here are some pictures of my work lol!

Thanks man I appreciate it! Im looking to start this up asap. If I can do 2-3 cars in a day, im looking at making $100-$250 per day depending on the vehicles I do. Each car takes about 3 hours for me, and thats doing the interior and exterior..so I think I could do 3 cars in a day!

Those prices are super cheap compared to what I've heard around here.

Good luck!

Great work, reasonable price. Good job man, I would be doing this in the summer, but washing cars in 90+ degrees w/no shade gets old real quick lol.

Prices are a little low, but starting out you have to build a customer base. You should add an extra dirty/trashy fee for the bad ones. Good luck!!!

Also you should invest in a small power washer to tote around with you. Sometimes a hose just doesn't cut it on messy cars.

Thanks for the tips and advice guys. Once it gets going I will charge more, and when I get a pressure washer, my own water supply and a generator for the shop vac...ill be able to charge more since I'm not using their water & power supply.

I was also thinking about investing in a pressure washer. Then I could do people's decks, houses, etc but for a totally different price of course.

Dat Cummins!
There is a ton of money to be made in pressure washing. A few of our local firefighters do it and they make a good chunk of change.

I seem to think so too, just need to make sure there's a demand for it before I go spending all this money on equipment.

What kind of product do you plan on using? I know some people that can hook you up with some good stuff...They own a detail business and sell to other businesses too.

I was planning on using Armor All products. I have a guy who works at Oriley's and I can get some inside deals! Then turtle wax for the wax, but mainly Armor All for the rest!

I wont let armor all touch my trucks interior. Especially the dash. Hate the grease felling and it dries out the plastic. This is all my personal opinion.

You going to do engine bays as well?

Oh really?? Never really knew that, I've always liked their products! I would do engine bays as long as I had a pressure washer..might be an added expense but yeah Id do it. It would be near pointless to try and do it with a regular garden hose.

I used to love it too before I detailed cars for 3 years at my cousins dealerships
Its not bad when your doing your own car that you take care of but other peoples usually blow
I cant believe how some people treat their vehicles

My brother and I usually charged $75-$150 depending on the size of the vehicle and the condition for a wash, clay bar, buff, wax, engine bay and interior detail when we do it on the side
I hardly do it anymore but man can my brother really turn a car around
