startup problems

Hello, my symptoms are trying to start the truck and it starts and immediately shuts down. I then retry and it will start 50% of the time, on the third attempt it will start. I usually press on the accelerator 1/4 down and it will start on that 2nd or 3rd attempt.

Easy stuff first - fuel filter? How long since it's been changed? Sounds like some kind of fuel delivery problem.

Some sort of fuel delivery/filtration problem - change fuel filters (Fleetguard or Mopar only not Amazon junk), run a fresh tank with some Hot Shots Diesel Extreme or similar cleaning additive and see if it improves (it should)

I'm with the guys above, replace your fuel filters and try again. No guarantee it'll fix it but it'll likely help.

Cummins recommends replacing the filters every 15k anyway.

Definitely run a diesel system cleanup through as well, maybe even before changing filters and after-

Diesel Extreme is made for this - not to be used all the time but definitely annually or bi-annually - they have a dosing per gallon I'd use the larger dosing regimen if you already having fueling issues
