Steering wheel reconstruction

I have a 1996 Ram (2nd gen Cummins), with a steering wheel that is crap, that I want to get repaired. The truck is my only means of transportation, so it does need to be somewhat quick. Recommendations?

Epoxy any cracks or gaps , sand to match original wheel ,install a quality leather cover . Or junkyard .

Bought a new one, expensive and wasn't impressed. Super Dwarf wrapped his in paracord, looks good. Also wheelskins.com has an interesting product.
