Steering wheel swap questions?

I have a 14 express. Steering wheel doesnt have the + and - gear buttons. The truck is a 6spd with the shifter on the column and the gear selector buttons on shifter. My question is, if i was to buy a wheel with the + and - gear buttons, will the buttons work to manually select a gear like on the shifter?

I have all the stuff to add volume control to my existing but thought maybe buy a new wheel with the gear selectuon on it instead if they will work....lol

No the gear buttons do not work. The CAN system or the steering wheel module is not programmed for that function.

That and the + and - on the wheel is for the 8 speed transmission and the stalk is for the 6 speed. The buttons would be next to useless on a 6 speed truck.
