Hey guys, first time poster here! I need a little help with an upgrade to my audio system. I purchased a '14 Ram Black Express Edition CC with the standard 6 speaker audio system with uconnect 5.0. I have always been a big audiophile and immediately upgraded the sound system in my vehicles to the best that I could afford. However, this time around, I do not want to replace the head unit. I noticed thought that the stock speakers in the doors and dash are 8ohm. I purchased some Rockford Punch 3.5's and 6.5's for the doors and dash that are 4ohm. I was curious if anyone has run into any issues with running 4ohm speakers up front, or if there is a way to run them safely without too much modification to wiring. The LAST thing I want to do is fry the head unit for running too low of an impedance. Any info would be much appreciated. I am stuck with these speakers when they get here today since Amazon will not take them back. I have no idea why they are non-returnable.

Also, on another note, if I add a sub to the rear and use a LOC, is the bass coming through the door speakers going to be extremely muddy since turning it down on the EQ will turn the signal down to my amp as well? Like I said, I usually upgrade everything, but this time around I am wanting to stay with the factory look.

Good luck with the new ride.......
I have a 2013 1500 express CC. I did replace all 6 speakers with:
Kicker 40CS354 (dash)
Pioneer TS-D6902R (back door)
Pioneer TS-D1720C (front door) components
They were all 4 ohms and work perfectly no complaints. At this point I want to get a 4ch amp at a later date. When you do decide to change the speakers, so you don't have to cut any wires you may want to use the Metra 71-039C for the dash speakers, and Metra 71-049 for the doors. As far as the subwoofer question I don't know on that. Here is a video on youtube that may be some help.

Awesome, thanks guys. I actually pulled the door panel off and it appears that the speaker is 4ohm? Everything and every pic I have seen shows them being 8ohm. I guess maybe I jumped the gun in thinking mine was too lol. I did pick up some metra wiring adapters so I don't have to splice anything. I have always just spliced, but it can really be a PITA.

I still haven't decided on my sub yet. I have a pioneer shallow mount 12" sub that I pulled out of my '13 Scion FRS. It sounds amazing, but I have never used a LOC with a stock headunit, so I am a bit skeptical of the sound quality and lack of overall control.
