My battery will not hold a charge anymore and it's still covered under warranty. I live in Arizona and still have the cloth cover around the battery. Could the cloth cover have an impact on how long the battery will last? I know it could help in the winter, but does it negatively work against the battery in extreme hot weather?

i also live on the surface of the sun... its not the battery wrap that does it.. its just the heat in general. i have never had a battery last more than 2 years. doesn't matter if its a wet battery or a gel.. phoenix kills them.

to actually answer your question, yes, it's covered under warranty. You're likely only going to see 2 or three years there. I would suggest you buy from the dealer ( personally ) because they will continue to warranty them. Anywhere you see temps going upwards of 100 get MOPAR direct from the dealer when it comes to batteries. This is just my personal opinion because they cover their own batteries.

That's not to say buying from Autozone or something isn't a good idea either, it's just a bit easier to go to the dealer, drop it off for an hour and get a new battery. Even more so when you have tons and tons of things hooked up to it, they will replace it and put it all back to the way it should be. I've got custom wiring out the ***** on my battery, and i like that they handle it all for me.

No and to other points. Every factory battery I have had in a new truck,,,had to replaced with in 2 years. Low cost battery's just don't last long. I also live in a hell crater. 106 today and in the winter 30-40. Very hard on battery's. I wish I knew what that felt cover on the battery is supposed to do.

Ironically, it's to protect the truck from radiant heat in the engine compartment.
