Hey guys,
Became a Ram owner less than a month ago and am loving it, just have a quick question. Should I leave the plastic bed liner it came with or take it out and spray it? I heard that the plastic one can get water underneath and over time that can cause the bed to rust. If I should go with the spray in, which brand go with and around what price? Any good places in South Florida? Thanks!

Regards,
MA

I like the spray in liners because they don't scratch easily and they're non-slip. I used to like the Rhino Liners but my new truck now has the Line-X and I think it's a little better than the Rhino I had in my Dakota. Never had a plastic liner so couldn't tell ya if they could cause rust but it makes sense.

I had the stock bed liner in my truck when I received it used and the day I got it took the bed liner out found the bed liner and the truck had a small rust spot. I sanded it down no real damage and rustoleum the damage until I get it Line-x'd next spring.

LineX here as well, put it on as soon as I could. Got the Premium variant with UV protection. Very happy.

I'll be going with LineX as well. I've got the factory drop in liner and can't stand them. Especially the area your in I'd say salt water could easily get trapped underneath the liner and where spots are worn through the paint, hello rust spots. I'm ocd but i'll be going with LineX, bed rug, and a tri-fold tonneau cover in the summer and a hard cover in the winter.

I got a rhino liner. I've also heard about the problems with drop in guards. It makes sense that would happen.

Did you get UV protection? I see them all the time in TX turning gray from being in the sun so long, but it still functions just fine.

Definitely spray in. Mine had the factory spray in and it was pretty good. Just make sure the company tapes off the drain holes and slits, dodge didn't on mine and it would take forever to drain

I just noticed last night haulin something to a buddy's that I only have 1 drain hole through my Line-X. It's a 2010 Sport. Anyone know if they only have one drain hole? It's on the driver's side. Most trucks I've owned had 2, one on each side.

I went with the stock spray in on this truck seeing that the cost is about the same as Line-X and I'm happy with it. I had Line-X on my last truck and LOVED it.

I've had drop ins when they were the thing to have and they DO wear through the paint and DO allow rust to start.

I took out the stock bedliner and had a Line-X sprayed in within a week of my purchase. There were already wear marks from the drop in on my 2013. Line-X for a short bed will run you about $455. I also go a Roll-N-Lock bed cover at the same time. Very happy!

I know mine had one right in the middle of the bed at the front. Not sure about other ones

I bought a 95 Mazda B2300 brand new and put a Rhino in it within a few months. After 80K and six years always outside too it still looked brand new. I have a lineX in my 13 Dodge now. Spray in is the way to go. I would maybe suggest putting a topper on the bed if it's going to be exposed all the time, but.....Maybe not necessary.

Absolutely spray in...drop ins actually hurt the bed of your truck...well worth the cost IMO.
