The other day, my keyless entry stopped working out of the blue, but it's different from anything I can find on any forums.

The buttons on my keypad still work, including the remote start. I can not use keyless entry to unlock or lock the doors. When I push the buttons to start the vehicle, it will go into "run" when the remote is in the truck, but it will not turn over the engine. When the keys are not in the truck, it will not turn to "run" and will instead display "key fob not detected". I can't even start the vehicle by pushing the button with the remote as you would with a dead fob.

The only way I can drive is by remote starting, entering the vehicle and pushing the start button. And even then it will sense if the fob is in the vehicle or not.

I've tried changing the battery and also unplugging the vehicles battery for half an hour, hoping that it might somehow reset the computer. I only have the one key fob

So in summary, the truck still senses the remote, but has disabled keyless entry and push to start.

I'm hoping someone else has gone through this issue and has a solution because I hate taking my vehicles to a mechanic.

How does your second fob function? Is it doing the same thing that your first fob is doing?

Hello there Dennis, we certainly understand how this would be concerning. If at any point you decide to address this with your Ram dealer, our team is just a private message away and more than willing to escalate a case on your behalf to a specialist for further support through that process.
