Strange rpm guage?

I've just bought a 2006 1500 4.7 with 6spd with 175k miles and while driving today the rpm guage seems to hardly move and seems to be laggy? I'd like to know what is the deal with it and is it a common problem? Most of the time it's in zero or slightly above it. It's only when I completely floor it almost it will lag and almost approach 4500.

I had something lile this on m 04 hemi I took the speedo apart and I messed it up even more loool, i ended up just replacing the whole speedo and luckily for my my kms is saved on the truck not the speedo it self.

Pre facelift the speedos do not work on each other and are completely different, all plugs plug in the same tho

Also on the 4th gen the kms is saved on to the speedo it self and Not the truck
