I am considering taking a sub and the amp out of my Blazer that I never drive and installing it in my Ram. I would like to see some sub/amp mounting setups that still have some storage space under the seat. I was thinking of one 12 under the rear seat, drivers side. Then amp would be mounted to the back wall behind the seat. I have seen on here were people glue a board to the wall and mount the amp to that, which is what I would probably do.

Still want to have room for jumper cables, and some straps, but that's about all I need.

Lets see some set ups!

This will not directly apply to your install case but may give you some idea's. I had planned a major system upgrade for my 03 SLT. Photo's show the rear cab wall mount direction I was going. This was possible with the use of Rivi-nuts installed into the rear cab wall, which would allow a secure install of my MDF amp mounting panel. Alas, I never finished the install as I could not/did not find time to take the truck out of service (daily driver) to do the install in my normal "slow as a snail" manner. Some photo's for what it's worth. Unlike you, I was going to give up the under-seat storage for a MTX double sub box install. My amp mount panel was to be carpet covered to keep things sanitary. Was going to keep the stock head unit (Alpine Nav) and run a Kicker line out converter, MB Quart amps (one for the subs, one for the rest of the speakers) and a hoast of Polk Audio components spearker in the stock locations and upgrade to 3.5 dash speackers.

FWIW,

T.

Yes, you can use to replace the Alpine 150w 8" sub, or the base audio system (like mine)
Comes complete with factory harness to plug and play in your truck, if base audio. Takes about 30-45 minutes, adds great lowend bass to basic system

I added one to mine, great enhancement. Then added a Kicker KEY180.4 4 channel DSP Smart Amp and replaced door speakers and dash. The DSP setup really, I mean REALLY helped front stage.
The sub retails for $699. It has a 200watt BTL amp, and a square 10" sub, and uses all factory OEM mounting hardware. And is backed by Mopar/Chrysler .
And I have seen people "make an offer" on some online dealers for this and get it for under $500.

I have an Express, QC, base stereo. Don't think I could justify spending even $500 though when I have 2 12s and an amp just sitting in my Blazer that never gets driven. All I would really need is a box for the sub, then wire up and mount everything.

That frees up that $500 for other stuff, LOL.

I have JL Audio StealthBox in place of factory Alpine unit and a 500 watt mono JL amp under the drivers seat to run it. Still plenty of room for my stuff.

Do you have pictures of how?

not at this time, i dont lift the back seat up since i have 2 car seats strapped in, but i have sub box with 2 ten inch subs and the amps fit behind the box under the seats. i guess its also gonna matter what type of amps you have, i have 2 jl audio xd700 which are small but powerful

All the boxes for dual subs I have seen take up the entire space underneath the rear seat. I assume 2 individual boxes could be made to have a space in between. Is this what you have?

Would 2 prefabbed boxes leave a space between?

My amp I would use is mid sized I would say.

What’s the chances of the good people at Stillwater Designs ( I think that’s still the parent company anyway. If not I’m just showing my age ) giving us a forum member discount on goodies?

Kicker has great products. I’ve always liked them.

Guessing Graygoose has a connection?

Amps etc can all be mounted on the back wall behind the seat. As far as subs go there's a ton of box options that go on 1 side or another. Realize that if you have a load floor it will not be useable with any of them on the side with the box. My amps are tucked away pretty tidily.15518978193764937526274874492004.jpg

my '16 sport CC has the factory sub box on one side- the passenger side. I like it that way so I don't have to go around the truck to get stuff. I also have the small storage lockers in the floor, so things you want to put in the rear seat storage might fit there.
